Entertaiment is the act of entertaining or amusing oneself. This can include movies, television, music, books, sports, and other activities. Entertainment can be done for any size audience, from a single person who watches a movie or television show in private, to a banquet for two, to a performance intended for thousands of people. Entertainment may have a purely amusing effect, or it could be intended to have a deeper, more serious purpose—such as in the case of ceremonies, celebrations, religious festivals, and satire.
Entertainment hits on points that the brain was evolved to deeply react to. It includes themes of backstabbing, murders and other things that our brains were shaped to understand the world.
